Review
2D CAD program, not bad for free. Allows the user to create 2D drawings
from scratch. Free version appears to have enough functionality to draw
floor plans with dimensions, resembles layout and commands like AutoCAD.
Good free starter program for those wanting to learn CAD with the likelyhood
of using AutoCAD in the future (architecture and engineering students).
Also probably good for homeowners and other designers wanting a free program
for floor plans and other measured drawings. Supports DWG and DXF drawing
formats.
The $30.00 pro upgrade has not been reviewed but
appears to have added fuctionality for paper space (printing), blocks,
type fonts for text.
One down side is the program seems to reset the
screen size on buildwise.org's computers to fit a predetermined area.
This problem is not permanent as the old settings are easily restored.
Issues covered include:
- 2D CAD and computer aided drafting and design
