Hello. I have a condo on the top floor. Had it for 20+ years. Just a couple months ago, we finally got new roofing. Usually, once a month, I wipe all baseboards. I was cleaning the closet and I noticed the mold on the base board. Ever since, the roof was replaced, I noticed the room was warmer which coincides with when the roofing was done. Also, there was a a rainy day so I don’t know if the roofing was exposed. I did clean and scrub, and put a dehumidifier in this bedroom. To my suprise, it fills up with water quite a bit. Now with the fall weather settling in, it fills up in a few days up to a week. I also had Panasonic exhausts 110CFM installed in both bathrooms. I can’t put my finger on it, but in 20 years, I’ve never had a mold problem then when the roof gets done, I noticed this on the baseboard. It happened in a corner in the closet that I think is close to the building wall. Any light or suggestion you can make, I’d be most grateful.

If it rained while the roof was off, you could have water in the structure. However, if this is the case it should slowly dissipate. If the moisture continues, I’d look for other problems. Even good roofers can mess up flashing and accidentally reflect moisture into the building. Or they may have inadvertently blocked the venting of there’s a vented attic. These and other problems can increase moisture in the building. Best to talk to your property manager or contractor and ask to have the roof looked at just in case.
